“Twelve
Miles to Trona”
Amber only
appears in this segment for a brief time - towards the end. A man (Charles
Esten) is driving on the highway, and we soon discover he has accidentally
overdosed on some type of drug.
He
is trying to make it to a hospital, which is twelve miles away in Trona
(hence
the title). He is stopped at
an
intersection when a girl (Amber) drives up in a truck.
He asks her to take him to a hospital and she does.
Everything appears blurry because it is from his point of
view.
When the man wakes up in the hospital, Amber is sitting next to his
bed. He thanks her and she
tells
him her name is Kate. He
tells
her she is a good driver and she replies she just got her license a week
ago.
She wipes a few tears from her eye and they both laugh.
Notes The way Amber was
talking about this movie she was filming, I thought it was going to be a
feature film. I started to
panic
when I realized it would air on Showtime.
I don’t have Showtime and I couldn’t find anyone who did.
Luckily someone knew someone and they taped it for me.
Thank goodness. I was really looking forward to seeing Ten Minutes
Older. Even though Amber is only it for a few minutes it’s something
completely different than her guest starring roles on TV. It's one of my
favorites.
