In the spring of 2001, it was announced that Amber Tamblyn had landed the lead role in a new one-hour comedy-drama for the WB network, titled No Ordinary Girl.  "Girl" was a family comedy seen through the eyes of Paige, a 16-year-old girl.   Amber Tamblyn was to play Paige, Mark Harmon and Susan Gibney ("Diagnosis Murder") were to play her parents.   Developed by the creators of the "Wonder Years", it was slated  to become part of the 2002 television season.  Amber described the show as a cross between "My So Called Life" and "Ally McBeal", while her mother praised it as "no ordinary show".    After months of indecision, the WB dropped the show from its lineup, despite enthusiastic response from the studios.
